Nassau County Sheriff’s Correction Officer Benevolent Association, Suffolk County Correction Officers Association Endorse Senate Candidate Julie Killian
New York Senate candidate Julie Killian (R-Rye) has been endorsed by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Correction Officer Benevolent Association and the Suffolk County Correction Officers Association, Inc. for her support of “realizing a better quality of life in public service”.
Killian was recently endorsed by the Police Benevolent Association of New York State, Detectives’ Endowment Association, Inc., the New York State Association of PBAs and the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association of the NYPD.
“Since our inception, we have sought to align ourselves with individuals who strive toward realizing a better quality of life in public service,” Brian Sullivan, President, Nassau COBA, said. “Accordingly, it is without any reservation whatsoever that we endorse Julie Killian with our full support for election to the Office of New York State Senate.”
Louis Viscusi, president, Suffolk County COBA said, "We are confident Julie Killian is the best person to represent the needs of the law enforcement community and her constituents. We look forward to working with Julie in the future."
“Correction officers have the critical role of keeping the men and women in our jails safe,” Killian said. “I have deep and abiding respect for those who wake up each day willing to put their lives on the line for all of us, and I will serve them to the very best of my ability when I am elected Senator.”
One of the tenets of Killian’s campaign for Senate has been keeping our children and families safe, which includes supporting legislation that would reclassify school shootings as acts of Domestic Terrorism and provide funding for local school districts to invest in security equipment and school resource officers to help secure school infrastructure. She also supports common sense gun laws, strengthening Kendra’s Law and supporting other proposals that would keep guns out of the wrong hands.
