Julie Killian aims for GOP nod in state Senate race

RYE - Two Republicans will vie for their party's nomination at a convention Wednesday night to fill the state Senate's 37th District seat vacated when George Latimer became Westchester county executive.

One of them is Julie Killian, a former investment banker who became a stay-at-home mom before entering politics as a Rye city councilwoman.

"Things need to change in Albany," she says. "We can't keep sending the same people there and expecting better results."

Former Rye councilwoman joins fray for vacant state Senate seat

A former Rye councilwoman wants to take a second crack at the state Senate seat that represents most of Westchester County’s Sound Shore.

Julie Killian is the third person in the mix for the Republican nomination in an April 24 special election for the Senate's 37th District. Killian lost in a 2016 race for the same seat against then-incumbent Democrat George Latimer.
